Join our team as a full time Medical Assistant! 

As a Medical Assistant for the Center for Digestive Health and Nutrition, you will work with an outstanding team of healthcare providers who are dedicated to the delivery of exceptional patient care in a warm, friendly, and professional medical office setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare electronic medical record prior to patient’s arrival.

  • Confirm and document patient demographics and medical history information.

  • Room patients, take vital signs, review and record patient medical history, and confirm reason for visit. .

  • Must have ability to multitask and transition quickly and effectively from physician to patient, and from one task to another.

  • Assist providers with exams and procedures when requested.

  • Stock supplies, and clean and disinfect exam rooms.

  • Discharge patients, and assist patients and providers with scheduling tests, lab work, and procedures.

  • Work with the clinical team to promote an efficient workflow by rooming and discharging patients efficiently.

Qualities and Skills:

  • General understanding of medical office workflows including appointment scheduling, patient registration and discharge.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

  • Skilled at providing patient care and services efficiently and with compassion.

  • General understanding of medical terminology, and familiar with common medications.

  • Experienced and comfortable using computers including a general working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records. 

  • Typing/keyboarding proficiency.

  • Outstanding communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team in fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:  

  • Formal training or equivalent experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred. (Certification is not required.) 

  • One-year of Electronic Medical Records experience.

Other Information:

  • The schedule for this position is established monthly with start times that vary from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime can be expected. 

  • A Pre-employment background and drug screening are required for employment consideration.
